For many people inhaling regularly makes an important contribution to relieving airway symptoms and is sometimes even vital therapy for patients. At all ages, from newborn babies to the elderly, PARI products offer a very effective yet gentle way of treating diseases of the airway.
Nebuliser systems make it possible to treat both the upper and the lower airway. The upper airway includes the nose, the adjoining nasal cavities (sinuses), the pharynx (throat) and the larynx (voice box). The mucous membrane of the nasopharynx (the nasal portion of the pharynx) also continues downwards into the mucosa of the lower airway, the lung. The lower airway is made up of the trachea (windpipe), bronchi and alveoli (air cells) of the lung. The upper and lower respiratory tract form a functional unit. This is why the lower airway is often also affected by diseases of the upper airway, e.g with allergies.
