Time management problems are often behind poor compliance

Monday, 01 June 2009

DeMore et al. conducted one-hour interviews with adolescent or adult cystic fibrosis patients.

There was consensus in one regard: 100% of participants stated that problems with time management are a major obstacle to satisfactory compliance. Other factors however were less clear-cut: While some patients are motivated when their symptoms become more severe ("If I can't breathe very well one day, I then keep to my treatment again"), this acts as an obstacle to others ("I got so worried, I simply couldn't think about it any more").
